Prof. Dr. P. V. A. Mohandas is one of the most renowned orthopedics in the world. He is the founder of MIOT International where he serves as the chief surgeon of orthopedic surgery.  He is also one of the founders of the Indo-German Orthopaedic Foundation (IGOF). His experience speaks for itself; he has over 45 years of experience both in India and Europe. He received an honorary membership to the German Association of Joint Replacement Surgeons, at their annual congress in Heidelberg, Germany, and he is the first-ever surgeon to receive it.
He served as assistant professor of Surgery, assistant to the neurosurgeon, and later orthopedics at Stanley Medical College, Chenna. He then went on to serve as a Professor of Orthopaedics in MMC and Kilpauk Medical College, Chennai for 15 years. He has also published several reputed medical papers.

Dr. Mohandas is specialized in joint replacement surgery, orthopedics, and trauma medicare.

Dr. Mohandas is an expert in several treatments. He introduced the first total hip replacement in Chennai, internal fixation of fracture for treatment of compound fractures, and the new AO concept of fracture fixation and joint replacement surgery in India. He is also adept in modern methods of spine surgery and interventions.
 

Dr. Mohandas completed his MBBS from Madras Medical College (MMC), Chennai. He then did his MS in Orthopaedics from MMC. He finished his M.Ch (Ortho) abroad from the University of Liverpool, England. He also received a German Fellowship in 1994 from the German Society of Fracture Management, a unique and singular honor.

Dr. Mohandas was awarded the Padmashree for pioneering Joint Replacement in India in 1992. He has also earned honorary degrees from the MGR Medical University, Chennai, and the University of Kalyani.
